Steve
is a multi-instrumentalist (keyboard, drums, guitar, bass)
singer- songwriter, and educator, who currently leads three
bands, Gypsy Joy Ride, Stevie G & The Soul Syndicate,
and The Uptown Rulers.
He
has a B.A. from Loyola University in New Orleans and an M.S.Ed.
from the University of Pennsylvania and also studied at The
Manhattan School of Music and Julliard.
He
has been a professional musician since the age of 14, and
has shared the stage with The Band, Neville Brothers, Willie
Nelson, NRBQ, Henry Gray, Lil' Buck Sinegal, Deb Coleman,
Walter Trout and others. He’s also done studio work
including keyboards for the soundtrack of Brad Pitt’s
first movie “Johnny Suede”.His solo CD "Jonjano
Baro" was released to critical acclaim.
Steve
presently has 46 students and has staged 12 youth concerts
in the past three years. he gets great joy teaching his music
students, spreading his enthusiasm for music and building
a community of musicians who, like Steve, love to jam.
